If within 2 years, file a claim and we can see what can be done. If older the warranty manager may offer a discounted replacement hull. _________________ Matt Miller Director of Parts and Accessory Sales Warranty and Technical Support Hobie Cat USA

I have no idea how mine developed, I really babied that kayak. But luckily I was within the 2 year warranty period and Hobie sent me a replacement hull. I don't think there's fixing that crack in the drive well...hopefully Hobie will pro rate you a hull. They've been pretty good to work with in my experience. Good luck!

You can read the full story here: https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic. ... 79#p315979 @mmiller: Nothing was highly stressed or crushed. Since I have also a slightly older i12 that was more often used without defects I should know how to properly handle the kayak.
